"Hearts" Valentine's Day outfit (skirt)

Without futher ado, here is the skirt to the Valentine's Day outfit.  I tried a pattern stitch that I think mimics little hearts.  This skirt is not a fitted skirt like my other skirts; I thought I would try something different and made it to pull on with a drawstring to tighten.

Materials

Size 10 thread in white
Size 10 thread in red
Size 6 (1.8 mm) steel hook

Gauge

10 sc = one inch, 10 sc rows = one inch

Directions

Double 3 tr cluster

*^YO 2 times, insert hook in SAME sc as last st made, YO and pull up a loop, (YO and draw through 2 loops on hook) 2 times^;  Repeat from * 2 times more (4 loops on hook), YO 2 times, skip next 3 sc, insert hook in next sc, YO and pull up a loop, (YO and draw through 2 loops on hook) 2 times (5 loops on hook), repeat from ^ to ^ twice, YO and draw through all 7 loops on hook.

Row 1:  Starting at hips with white, ch 50, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn.  (49 sts)

Row 2:  Ch 1, sc in first st, [ch 2, sk next 2 sts, sc in next 2 sts] across, turn.  (25 sc, 12 ch 2 spaces)

Row 3:  Ch 1, [sc in first (next) 2 sts, 2 sc in next ch 2 sp] across to last st, sc in last st, turn.  Fasten off.  (49 sts)

Row 4:  With red, join with sl st in first st, ch 6 (counts as first tr and ch 2), [work double 3 tr cluster, ch 2] across to last st, ch 2, work tr in last st, turn.  Fasten off.  (12 double 3 tr clusters, 2 tr)

Row 5:  With white, join with sc in first tr, 2 sc in first ch 2 sp, sc in next double 3 tr cluster, [3 sc in next ch 2 sp, sc in next double 3 tr cluster] across, sc in next ch 2 sp, sc in last tr, turn.  Fasten off.  (49 sts)

Rows 6-7:  Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.  (49 sts)

Rows 8-15:  Repeat rows 4-7 twice more.

Row 16:  With red, join with sc in first st, ch 2, sl st in top of sc just made, sc in same st as last sc made (picot made), sk next st, [sc in next st, ch 2, sl st in top of sc just made, sc in same st as last sc made, sk next st] across, join to beg sc.  Fasten off. 

Drawstring

Crochet 125 ch tightly.  Finish off.

Finishing

1.  Sew back seam all the way closed, using red thread on the red rows and white thread on the white rows.

2.  Thread drawstring through ch 2 spaces of row 2.  Tie in a bow.
